Summer Lovin’ – the Best Non - Alcoholic Cocktails to Soak in the Sun
As the weather heats up and we move into summer (here in the Northern Hemisphere at least), a simple and easy-to-make cocktail is sometimes just what a situation requires.
Luckily, some of the best cocktails for making at home are super simple! Highballs or cocktails with a spirit and a fizzy mixer are some of the easiest (and tastiest) drinks one can make at home.
At Lyre’s we love variations on the classic highball style. Until recently, it was nearly impossible to capture the complexity of these cocktails without the alcohol. The Lyre’s range of spirits now allows everyone the option to have their drink, their way.
Ginger beer cocktails are perfect for the summer! The key to this cocktail is to use fresh lime juice. We also recommend adding some aromatic bitters such as Angostura to help meld the flavors.
Is there a more classic highball combination than bourbon whisk(e)y and soda? Try it with Lyre’s. And consider: it may not seem like a big deal but the type of cola you are adding makes a huge difference to the final flavor. Use your favorite cola as a baseline but remember that a different cola might interact with the flavor of the spirit in a way you prefer!
3. Dry London Spirit and Tonic
The best way to make your G&T’s stand out is the garnish! We recommend a grapefruit wedge and a sprig of rosemary to accompany the Lyre’s Dry London Spirit and Tonic. You should experiment with your favorite fruits (any citrus works well), herbs or spices, and or even splashes of fresh juice or wine to make your G&T truly yours!
4. Italian Orange and Tonic
This bundle is perfect for before a meal, a classic Apèritif cocktail. Lyre’s Italian Orange is slightly bitter which stimulates your appetite - a perfect drink for a backyard barbeque or an afternoon lounging by the pool!

Giving your guests the option of topping an equal mix of our Lyre’s Italian orange and Orange sec with either Sparkling wine, soda water or both allows every guest to be equally engaged in their cocktailing experience.
