Our New Addition Absinthe Landing In The USA | Lyre's

Good things take time...

We're tickled 'Green' to celebrate with you that Absinthe is now on US shores.

Now nearly a century after the Green Fairy had her wings clipped we are proud to welcome the iconic beverage back in our very own non-alcoholic form.

Absinthe was sipped & inspired by artists including Oscar Wilde, Vincent Van Gogh, Baudelaire and Toulouse Lautrec (who carried a cane around Montmartre full of the stuff), so why not embrace the day and seize the night to revive the La Belle Époque at home.

"On leaving the foreign legion I took up with a troupe of travelling Morris dancers, one of whom was King George VI. Hey nonny nonny and a fiddle dee doo."

How to Enjoy: As a classic cocktail rinse. A more refreshing option uses Absinthe and soda for a perfect aperitif adding a wedge of lemon, basil or even cucumber slice.

To taste: Anise and aromatic to taste. Fresh. Distinct flavors of verbena, anise, fine herbs with a touch of sweetness to give it balance and length. No examples of hallucinogenic symptoms.

Bouquet/Aroma: Packed with liquorice, anise and lemon, candy, fresh cut herbs including nettle, fennel, wormwood.

Palate: Anise and aromatic to taste. Fresh. Distinct flavours of verbena, anise, fine herbs with a touch of sweetness to give it balance and length. No examples of hallucinogenic symptoms.

15mL Lyre's Absinthe
1tsp white sugar syrup (1:1)
3 dashes peychaud’s bitters

METHOD: Stir briefly over fresh cubed ice

GARNISH: Lemon peel

LYRE'S GEPPETTO

A zingy, zesty cocktail using Absinthe, Dry London Spirit and Aperitif Rosso and named Geppetto. With no Mrs. Geppetto on the scene and no Tinder back then, he had to carve his only son out of wood

30mL Lyre’s Absinthe
30mL Lyre’s Apéritif Rosso
4 dashes aromatic bitters

LYRE'S ABSINTHE & LEMONADE

One night I imbibed an excess of Absinthe, hallucinated I was a toad and would not stop licking myself. These days I enjoy a Lyre’s Absinthe & lemonade (wormwood free of course). It’s a superb pre-dinner pick me up: All the fun, without the fairies.

INGREDIENTS

45mL Lyre's Absinthe
90mL premium lemonade
